We can't wait to welcome you back to Dorset!

Dear Friends of Gloucester House,

I really hope everyone has managed to stay safe and well during this extremely testing period.

We closed our doors in line with the Government directive back in March along with the rest of Hospitality, to keep our staff and guests safe. Life has changed for us all over these past few months and we, like you, have been doing our best to navigate the new ‘norm’, but we are itching to reopen this summer.

We’re so pleased now to be able to start planning for re-opening. In line with the government announcement and advice, we’re working towards opening Gloucester House on 4th July.

Following our closure, we have been working hard to provide flexibility to guests whose bookings have been affected and we’re very grateful for the patience and understanding our guests have shown. We’ve used the time to look at areas where we can improve. We’ve painted, sanded and revamped. And as we’re so lucky to live in this beautiful area, we’ve explored and found even more special places for you to visit.

But we’ve missed normality – discussions over breakfast, chatting with guests and suggesting our favourite restaurants for you to dine at.

So how do we get back to a world of welcoming guests again? It goes without saying that health and safety is our priority. Over the coming months we will adjust to new ways of doing things and take our measures to the next level so that you can continue to have confidence that we have your back.

However, there’s a balance to strike, and it’s important that we carry out our adjustments in a way that’s true to who we are and what we believe in. Now more than ever, people need the time and space to be at their happiest. We have always promoted the health benefits of time outdoors – and never has this been more valid.

We’re still shaping exactly what our adjustments look like and what it will mean as guidelines are constantly adjusted, but in the meantime we have published an overview of our Coronavirus “Clean & Safe” Action Plan.
