Weymouth Area

Weymouth is a thriving town steeped in history, boasting one of the safest beaches in the country, with its long arc of golden sands and calm clear waters.

The town is a mixture of old and new featuring a Georgian esplanade, a Victorian Jubilee clock fronting the beach and a 17th century harbour with a modern yacht marina and a flourishing fishing industry.

The Town centre has been tastefully modernised with an excellent shopping precinct in Bond Street, complete with department stores , a multi-screen cinema and a tenpin bowling alley.

You will also discover many historical gems with legacies from the times of George III.

Weymouth is also fortunate enough to be surrounded by beautiful countryside with rolling downs and scenic coastal paths. The unique Dorset coastline known as “The Jurassic Coast” has recently been awarded World Heritage status.

Close by is a RSPB bird reserve, Abbotsbury Swannery and Tropical Gardens, Weymouth Sealife Centre and many more attractions making Weymouth a perfect destination for young and old alike.

But it’s not just sandy beaches and clear blue water that Weymouth has to offer. Why not pay a visit to the award winning Greenhill Gardens while you’re here? We’re situated just a ten minute walk away from the brightly coloured boarders, winding paths and floral clock that make this a favourite amongst tourists.

Even closer to our bed and breakfast in Weymouth, Dorset is the town’s harbour. With its postcard like appearance and thriving atmosphere, the harbour hosts a number of events throughout the year, so it’s worth checking what’s on whilst you’re down here.

The more adventurous traveller might decide to look into some of the water sports on offer. Weymouth was previously a host venue for the 2012 Olympic Games. Whether kayaking or kite surfing is more your thing, there are a number of strenuous activities to choose from. Luckily our bed and breakfast in Weymouth is only a few minutes away when you need to relax and re-charge your batteries.

With an abundance of cafés, restaurants and fish and chip shops, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to food, but if you do manage to keep a healthy appetite, we’ll be happy to welcome you for a satisfying breakfast in the morning.
